Hi!! It haven't seen you for a long time. I couldn't post my new blog because I was very busy last two weeks. Today, I will  catch up on latest HUMC activities.      Two weeks ago, we swapped front window of our car because our captain broke it while driving.          ↓ First, we removed caulking compound. It was as hard and elastic as rubber. So we had trouble removing it. It took one hour to remove.        ↓Then,we applied new caulking compound to the frame and installed new front window. It was not only a hard work for beginner but also a good experience.       On last Saturday, we attended the joint practice of gymkhana called S.L.T.C. More than 60 cars were participated in. We learned outstanding driving techniques from our seniors, adult drivers and professional drivers. We also rode some cars drove professional drivers....

やさしい英語会話 (272) English Slang (1)

Today I listened to a podcast called "やさしい英語会話 (272) English Slang (1)". They talked about English slang such as  "sick" , "bottom line", "unreal" and so on. Some English words takes on  good connotations and bad ones.       For example, "sick" has three means. At first, 'be under the weather with'. Next, 'be cool' and at last, ' gross'.

H iroshima U niversity M otors C lub 505 Today, let me introduce HUMC 505 , which I belong to.  It was established in 1958 , have 62 years of history. Currently,  we are made up of 22 members.  We compete in two events. " Dirt Trial" and "Gymkhana" Both of them are time trial. But, the former is held on dirt roads, on the other hand, the latter is held on asphalt roads. This year, all of competitions was canceled because of an epidemic of COVID19.Therefore, we only do maintenance of our cars. On the below, I insert some snapshots of club activities. ↑ We are working on swapping engine and gearbox from former car to new one.  ↑ Cutting exhaust manifold with grinding machine, because some parts interfered with chassis. ↑Maintenance lasted until late at night. ↑We sometimes play racing kart.     Why don't you visit our pit? Thank you!!
